Description: “The Gold Rush” (1942), Super 8mm Film, SOUND, Charlie Chaplin Narrated, Music The critically acclaimed Chaplin film The Gold Rush was originally released in 1925, but Chaplin re-releases it with narration and sound in 1942 which got the film academy award nominations. Great film where Chaplin plays his tramp persona on the Alaska gold rush, falls for a girl who breaks his heart, strikes it rich and gets the girl. Brilliant romantic comedic tragedy with a happy ending. So many great scenes: the hunger scene where Jim sees Chaplin as a chicken, the New Year’s Eve party, the house hanging over the cliff. Genius.
