Description: The Fly & Lab Base Rare Resin Monster Model Set - GEOmetric Design 1997 Joe Simon Back in the late ‘90’s, GEOmetric Design had a novel idea to expand their popular model kit line: Micro Mania mini models of famous movie monsters. Micro Mania were a series of mini figures, sculpted ‘military scale,’ (or 120mm tall), and packaged in clear polybags with header cards attached. Each came with a 2” wide circular base, and many characters also had companion kits (sold separately) which were in-scale thematic environment display bases. This Fly set is one of those – both brand new in the polybags, and only carefully opened for the photos here. (They’ve also both been cleanly resealed after the photos.) The Fly set was crisply sculpted by Joe Simon, who packed a lot of tight detail into both the figure and his mad lab. All components are cleanly cast in solid off-white resin, except the Fly’s arms which are cast in white metal. The Fly himself stands 3 ½” tall and 4” atop his laboratory base, which is 4 ½” wide x 3 ¼” deep. Out of production for over 25 years, GEO’s original Micro Mania models are indeed scarce today.
