During the Revolutionary War the British Army burned towns in Connecticut suspected as housed rebels. To compensate the citizens Connecticut gave up a portion of her claims to western lands (Connecticut's Western Reserve), including the far western regions, called The Fire Lands (now Firelands). Here are the surveys which described those lands.Huron County, Ohio is in the north central part of the State, with the County Seat and base for the Huron County Chapter both in Norwalk, Ohio. The Firelands is primarily Erie and Huron Counties, with small parts in Ashland and Ottawa Counties. Found in the 200-year-old farmhouse library of a house in rural north central Ohio. They loved their books and kept them all. Eight pickup-truck loads of books and paper from that house passing through eBay and on to you now.A splendid work. Tight, firm interiors in poor wraps. The front wrap is Acceptable, the back wrap is dismounted but present. No edgewear, No looseness, No dogears, No mustiness, No smoke smell. We do try to describe them correctly - we want you back - hundreds of repeat customers. No names, No other markings, No Bookplates, NOT Ex-library. NOT Remainder-marked. Don't let this big beautiful history by you - this is a splendid and historic find.
