Description: Up for sale is a copy of the Diverting History of John Gilpin. This edition was published by Longman's, Green and Company , illustrated by H. Fitz Cook and engraved by J.C. Whymper. This book has great illustrations throughout and each page was printed front only (i.e.. illustration and text with nothing on the back). The book has condition issues mostly to the boards which are very loose and the front board and significant staining to the top half. It looks like it got paint on it at some point. On the plus side the interior and the pages themselves are generally clean with minor foxing/browning. In general this is a good news bad news story. Interior is in nice shape the exterior has suffered a bit. There is no date but it is circa 1880. Please email with questions and see my store for other great items.
