Description: Radio shows were first syndicated on reel to reel tape, later on LP stereo discs, then CD's and now digitally. Collectors can no longer get their hands on this quality material so the surviving shows that are available will keep going up and up in value. These radio shows were never intended for public use & most were destroyed or returned to the manufacturer after use, so they're very difficult to find. Legendary disc jockey Scott Muni was one of radio's premier voices of the 1980's and 1990's. Among his many memorable shows was his three plus year run of the weekly "Ticket To Ride" show; a one-hour special entirely dedicated to The Beatles. Each show was rich of in-depth analysis, reliable research and notable guests. D.I.R. Broadcasting in New York produced the show which aired nationally. In the beginning, each episode of 'Ticket To Ride' was pressed on two records, each side containing 15 minutes of radio programming. These exclusive records were distributed to radio stations in major markets across the U.S.A. and usually only aired once. Now, over three decades later, they have become highly collectible and sought after. May 2nd, 1988 "Ticket to Ride" transitioned from vinyl to CD and continued broadcasting that way until the series concluded in April, 1989. This episode, "The Crickets Meet the Beatles" features Interviews with Jerry Allison & Joe B. Mauldin as they talk about how The Beatles got their (insect) name and why John decided it was OK to wear glasses while on stage. Paul discusses his ownership of the Buddy Holly catalog.
