Description: This is the very rare original 1969 printing of the Beatles’ Abbey Road song book, with loads of photos and some illustrations by John Lennon, issued at the time Abbey Road was just coming out. Includes the super-rare foldout poster. A number of the photos from what would be their last real photo session are included, printed here in this songbook for the first time, a couple of which were later used for the Hey Jude album cover. Some of these photos were only ever seen in this book until recently. The Lennon drawings have never been printed elsewhere, as far as I know. The front of the poster shows four photos from that photo session, including one that would later show up on the Hey Jude cover, and the back has a wonderful time line of their whole career, including tour dates, weddings, even vacations they took, right up to the present moment with the last entry being June of 1969. All published before the impending breakup. The book has some wear on the edges, corners and spine, with a bit of a tear at the lower left where the cover is ripping off the spine for about 1.5”, and a bent upper right corner. Aside from that it is just whitening at the edges and some light signs of use, but the insides are immaculate. The poster is in pristine condition, and the pages are crisp and clean throughout. This is a beautiful copy of this rare songbook… hard to top!
