Description: TANITA TIKARAM "Good Tradition" 1988 7" WEA YZ196L. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class Large Letter. Sleeve and vinyl are both in excellent condition. The song on the b-side, Valentine Heart, is a demo version that doesn’t appear anywhere else. Releasing her first records at the age of just 19 and mentored by Rod Argent, Tikaram was marketed a little like an 80s Kate Bush, as the child prodigy. After a storming success with her first album and this single and “Twist in my Sobriety” (her biggest hit in America), she gradually faded from the public eye while continuing to make high quality records. This is an excellent copy of the first pressing of her debut single. ********** All records will be posted in Defendapack Twistwrap double thickness record mailers and with the disc *outside* the card sleeve and inside a new plastic sleeve, so there will be no new corner damage or holes in the edges caused by the LP sliding inside the sleeve in transit. All existing wear, tear and damage done to the sleeve when I was a teenager and didn't think the state of my records was any concern of anyone else other than myself, will be either described or will be clearly photographed. ********** As a personal note: this is my own vinyl collection. I'm downsizing, so saying a ceremonial goodbye to my LPs and singles that have been part of my life for the best part of 50 years. I'm not a dealer: these records were bought to listen to - in many cases to listen to A LOT. And they've been with me through goods times and bad times. I'm a very careful owner, so they're mostly in really condition for their age (wish I could say that for other things), but none of them are in mint condition. As part of saying goodbye, I'm first cleaning them using a DISCO-ANTISTAT RECORD CLEANER, and to be honest they have never sounded this good - in some cases they're better than the day I bought them. Then I'm giving them a last play through using a brand new stylus, paying attention to any surface noise, audible scratches etc. I'm noticing that vinyl really took a plunge in quality around 1990 :-) both in weight and sound. Because of this last play through, I can honestly tell you what they sound like after a clean. This is a slow process - about ten records a week - so please save my eBay selling page and see if anything else you're interested in crops up: having been raised under the wing of John Peel, it's a very eclectic collection. ********
