Description: SUPERIOR VICTORIAN J & JW MEEKS ROSEWOOD DRESSING VANITY Attributed to Meeks with confidence, NYC, circa 1850's Presenting a spectacular Victorian J & JW Meeks Carved Rosewood Dressing Vanity / One of only three known to exist. One comp sold some time ago and the other is known to be in the Stanton Hall Mansion on display in the Mansion in Natchez, Mississippi.Features include highly carved flower sprays featuring rose blossoms along the front skirt and down all four legs. The looking glass is supported by twin tower Etageres with decorative display shelves. The fitted draw is lined with Birds Eye Maple. All supported by four original casters. It is our opinion that this Dressing Vanity holds the distinction of being the up graded model. Condition is beautifully restored!!
