Description: Superb Greg Copeland Mixed Media on Wood in a Heavy Lucite 3-D Box Frame Wall Art Circa 1983 Measurements: 35"T x 35"W x 5"D (88.9cm x 88.9cm x 12.7cm) Markings: Hand-signed and dated in the bottom left corner, with the original Copeland Art Sticker on Back and all original paperwork Weight: 43 lbs. Not only large and eye-catching, this stunning work of art is heavy. Constructed of a sturdy plywood back painted gray, it features a 5 inch thick heavy Lucite frame. The central focus of the piece is a multitude of heavy linen squares, hand-painted in various patterns and in shades of gray, orange and off-white. Individually attached, each square stands out 45 degree angle, with the rows alternating between facing up and down. I removed the Lucite cover to better photograph the piece as well as to painstakingly clean it, inside and out with NovusĀ® Plastic Polish to remove as many of the scratches I could see. It looks phenomenal with no cracks or chips, only very minor wear to frame consistent with age. The artwork itself is in mint condition with no damage of any kind. It will be professionally boxed and shipped via UPS or FedEX ground delivery, insured with signature required. Shipping weight 75 lbs. Artist Greg Copeland was born in New Jersey and in the 60's opened his first artist studio in New Dutch Lane Fairfield, and by the 80's had another studio in Courtland Street Patterson and then eventually becoming Greg Copeland INC. Greg had many other artists working under his studio label and apparently one of those artist was Milo Baughman himself. Greg Copeland is largely known for his 3 dimensional intricate framed artworks and screen printed abstract mirror pieces.
