Description: Story For The Fourth Of July, An Epitome Of American History, Adapted to Infant Minds, by Uncle Ned. Published by Kiggins & Kellogg, 88 Johns St, NY. No dates but the publisher was only at this address from 1849-1856. Second Series, No 7. 16 pages. 3-3/4" X 2-3/8". In wraps. Covers have light soiling/toning. One corner has a tiny crease and there is a quarter inch split at bottom of spine. The binding is intact. It seems to have been a school prize, with two names and grades(?) written on the title page. There's a couple isolated foxed spots, but interior is generally clean and reasonable bright. There are 5 illustrations, three are full page and two are smaller. There's also an eagle on front and title page. The booklet starts with how people celebrated the 4th, and goes on to explain Columbus, the "savages", the Puritans, their hardships, and finally the Revolution, all in 16 pages. Extremely scarce. Only one copy (later printing) online. Overall condition is Very Good or better All my books are as described.
