Description: Heavy-bodied stoneware tea bowl with pedestal foot. Light colored stoneware body glazed in gray, black and mauve. The rustic feel of the vessel is heightened by a rim of black, volcanic glaze giving it a highly textured band around the lip. I’m unsure of the maker, but it is marked “AB” on the bottom. Approximately 4 ½ inches diameter, 3 ¾ inches tall, 2 ¼ inches deep. In excellent condition with no cracks or chips or crazing. There is some visible pinholes and pits in the volcanic glaze surface around the rim, but this is to be expected with this glaze and adds to the wabi sabi appeal of the vessel (see photos.)
