Description: If this is your first or second time rebuilding the MS361 because the piston burnt up your not alone. Heat can damage the piston very quickly in a high power lean burning saw with the stock cooling not being more than stock. So I made a solution to the big problem it's a copper plate mounted on the exhaust it sends heat out the side of the saw cooling the flange 100 degrees or more from stock. So If you have a after market muffler or porting things will last longer stay cooler and more power with less heat fade as the saw runs. This part mounts on the MS361 without any modifications. We have a 362cm with a MS460 crank in it and the copper plate frankenstutz watch it run. "NOTE" I need to know if you have a stock head after market stock bore head this plate bolts onto each different and I would like to make sure it fits your saw thanks. A added note your cooling plate will turn black after a few cuts this is a bad time to touch it. Also make sure it is matched to your port and in direct contact to the head. Installing your plate you will need to bend one of the spikes shown in photo before installation or you will have to remove the break handle. Then bend the rest of them before bolting it down.
