Description: Printer's proof from Steven Klein's series with Kate Moss for Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2014 As British Vogue wrote of the campaign: "KATE MOSS is the new face of Alexander McQueen, and, surprisingly, it is the first time that the supermodel has fronted a campaign for the brand. She also stars in a futuristic film, which was inspired by Sixties British cult thriller, Peeping Tom. The haunting short is seen through the eyes of an unknown voyeur who follows Moss through a darkened street, while holding a replica doll version of the model, before she enters a desolate building and begins to take off her clothes. As expected from McQueen, it is every bit as otherworldly and sinister as you might imagine. The images and film were shot in East London by long-time McQueen collaborator Steven Klein. Moss was a good friend of the brand's late eponymous founder and appeared as a ghostly hologram at the end of the designer's autumn/winter 2006 show." This photograph was purchased from Box Studios, NYC, the design company run by Pascal Dangin, who designed, retouched, and printed Klein's photographs. Life Time magazine described Dangin as "the world's most sought-after photo retoucher" and he was featured in a laudatory New Yorker profile in 2008. This photograph was in the company's inventory. Printed on super glossy paper, which is why my own photographs are rather poor. Happy to send more images if necessary. The notes on back in pencil clearly mark it as a printer's proof from 2013 (the year before the official release). If you compare the image to the finished published image, you can see slight variations--most notably the dark stripes of makeup along Moss's arms have been removed from the final image. As such, this is also a striking document of Klein's work in media res. This is being sold as a printer's proof--it is not signed. Excellent condition. Unframed. Ships flat.
