Letterhead is white, measures 7 1/4" x 10 1/2" Very nice, dark blue ship's name at top, waving Norwegian flag at left Co.'s "sun Burst" logo at top right. Very Clean, Excellent condition. FYI: The Norway was originally the French Line’s 57, 607 grt ss France that entered service in January 1962, and at 1035-ft was the world’s longest passenger liner. She was withdrawn in 1974 and laid up at La Havre until June 1979, when she was bought by Norwegian Caribbean Lines and renamed Norway entering service in June 1980 at Miami. In 1984, the Norway was refitted with new upper deck verandah cabins, which increased her gross tonnage to 70,202, and by doing so captured the world’s largest passenger ship title. But in 1988 Royal Caribbean unveiled their 73,000 grt Sovereign of the Seas. In 1990, Norway underwent yet another major refit, when two new decks were placed upon the superstructure. This increased her gross tonnage to 76,049 and her passenger capacity to 2,565. Recapturing the title again, only to lose it for good a few years later. The Norway, inactive since a fatal boiler explosion in Miami killed eight crew-members in 2003, was anchored off Port Klang, Malaysia awaiting her fate. The famed French ocean liner now renamed the Blue Lady, was towed from Malaysia to India, arriving June 30, 2006 for scrapping, but was held up over concerns that the toxic asbestos on board will be disposed of improperly. An estimated 900 tons of asbestos will be removed before workers dismantle the luxury liner. On August 15, 2006 the vessel was beached at the scrap yard in Alang, and after nearly a year of waiting for the legal ruling by India's Supreme Court, finally in September 2007 they were given the OK to start scrapping. The first cut, her "nose", was made in the first week of December. +========================================================+ Buying more than one of our listings?
