Description: Columbia Phonograph Co. 10-inch 78 RPM single-sided record # 5416 is Joachim Raff's "Cavatina", a violin solo played by Sr. F. Governale, with "Orchestra Accompaniment." I see patent dates of 1901 and 1902, and "Grand Prize" award dates of 1900 (Paris) and 1904 (St. Louis). The back is blank apart from a decal showing the American Graphophone Company factory in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The record is still nice and shiny, and no really serious signs of wear. I've played it on my Audio-Technica turntable, with no skips or jumps, and what I would imagine to be a typical amount of background noise for a record of this age.
