The most difficult part was moving one of the other breakers so that this surge suppressor could be at a position right where the main line feeds the rails inside the breaker box. This rating is based on short-term experience (so far, so good); the true test will be how long it lasts. If the manufacturers who make these whole house surge suppressors were serious, they would give these things energy absorption ratings (in Joules) which would give you a _relative_ idea of how long one of these will last.
