Spyderco Domino Knife CTS XHP Blade, Titanium + Carbon Fiber Handles

Description: The Domino was designed by Eric Glesser and is the perfect combination of a Kit Carson-inspired flipper opener and all the high-performance qualities that define Spyderco knives. Its full-flat-ground blade is machined from premium CTS XHP steel and rides on specially designed ball bearing washers for an exceptionally smooth opening action. The handle features a solid titanium scale on one side, a titanium liner and black Cubic Check carbon fiber/G-10 laminate scale on the other. The titanium scale houses a high-strength Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism with a long-wearing steel interface that serves double duty as an overtravel stop. CTS XHP is an awesome steel. It is air hardened, high carbon, high chromium, and contains hard vanadium carbides further augmenting its hardness level to produce a keenly sharp cutting edge and surface finish. It exhibits great edge retention, exceptional hardness similar to that found in tool steels such as D2, but also offers corrosion resistance on par with high chromium stainless steels like Type-440C. Original MSRP was $329.95 and the Domino was discontinued in 2016/2017. Knife length overall is 7.68" (195 mm), 4.55" (116 mm) closed, and the blade is 3.13" (80 mm). Blade Length is smaller than the bigger Spydercos (para military, manix) and is similar in size to the medium sized Spydercos like the Para 3 and Delica. This knife has been used gently. It was not abused or carried daily. Knife is centered, has great lock up, and no lock stick. The action is silky smooth, blade is razor sharp with a mirror finish at the factory angle as shown in the picture of the blade reflecting the Spyderco writing from the box. Many Spyderco aficionados consider the knives made at the Taichung factory in Taiwan to be the best quality in terms of fit and finish and this Domino is no exemption. I think it is Spyderco's best flipper. The Domino has fantastic ergonomics and would make a tremendous EDC knife, but the condition of this knife is also well suited for it to be an excellent addition to a collection.
