Description: You get the exact one shown here : #A90. Please see all 12 photos - please scroll to see the last 6 as all sides are shown. Here we have a SPHALERITE specimen from the BLACKSTONE mine, Shullsburg, Wisconsin. This is a palm-sized specimen that looks rather drab at first glance but when you look at it with a loupe you can see that the crystal structure on the upper surface is actually very detailed and nice. While I can't see the chalcopyrite with my naked eyes, a loupe reveals hundreds of tiny cubes. I normally take pictures outdoors in full direct sunlight with a good camera but the recent rainy weather has kept me indoors and using my phone to take pictures. I may add more photos taken with a camera later. While the specimen is a bit drab it does look better than in the photos - especially in regards to the crystal structure. This is a bit dusty from being in storage for 50 years. The sides of the specimen - which are broken surfaces- are fairly bright and reflective. The upper surface is crystalized and the surface has lots of tiny surface growth hillocks which tend to absorb light rather than reflect it.This is a very dense rock and a fairly big size. Given that shipping is included in the asking price this is a very good price for a specimen from the Shullsberg area. This specimen does have a no-hassle return policy if you happen to be unhappy with it. I do ask the buyer to pay for return shipping in the event of a return so consider this policy before purchasing. Be sure to read lower down about shipping rebates and be aware that this heavy rascal will be expensive for me to ship at around $9 to $13 depending on your distance from Atlanta, Georgia. This weighs 1 pound 7.80 ounces or 675 grams. This measures approx. 3 3/8" wide x 2 7/8" deep x 2" thickness or roughly 8.6 x 7.3 x 5.1 cm. The images display on your screen a couple of times larger than life and the images are enlarged. I'll be listing lots more specimens from a recently acquired old estate mineral collection so watch my other listings like a hawk! Have you ever seen a listing title that screamed "!!! ESTATE FIND !!!!" ? Is there often much truth to that with the majority of sellers? Not hardly. But, we all see through that. At least, the ones that have spent any time on ebay do.But what we have here is just like Holyfield: It's the real deal. This is from the estate collection of Donna Bailey who resided in Overland Park, Kansas and who actively collected minerals from 1962 thru approx. 1980. She numbered and cataloged every specimen. The collection consisted of over 800 cataloged specimens. all of which was purchased before 1980. I am listing many specimens from the collection which is truly wide and varied. Be sure to check out my other listings and keep in mind that I add new things every day.ACHTUNG, BABY! The asking price is subject to increase at any time. This ships with a nice DIXIE EUHEDRALS branded specimen label. This will have to be packed in a box to afford safe shipping. This will weigh 2 pounds or more when boxed for shipping and must go priority. If you use the shopping cart and only send one payment I generally send a shipping rebate when the totals of the amount alloted for shipment are less than the actual amount required to package and ship the item. Almost all of the small items result in a rebate being given. Sometimes a medium or flat rate box can be used and sometimes that isnt safe for delicate specimens. This one is a candidate for a flat rate box but can't be combined with a delicate item since this one is so heavy. Since this one is heavy and may require it's own box and a ton of padding it may not qualify of a shipping rebate if purchased in combination with other items. But since it MIGHT, it is best to be sure to send only one payment. Besides, that's just common courtesy and enables me to get your order out the door faster. International shipping: There are a lot of countries on this planet and they all have different rates so I can't formulate a combined shipping rule. The actual postage costs are charged with $2 added for packaging. If you buy multiple items, pay the rate that is estimated by the calculator and I will refund any amount paid over the actual postage (less $2 for packaging materials). International Buyers assumes all risks if the package is lost in the mail. We do not ship to Italy, Israel, Russia, or Ukraine due to the number of packages that get 'lost' in the mail. International orders: Tariffs & Import tax policy: The buyer is responsible for all taxes, tariffs, customs and import fees, if any.
