After pairing with the SpeedBox App mobile application, you will see real riding data on your phone’s display. You may also set the speed limit of your own choice. Monitor and store all the parameters of your trip on the display of your phone in any place, anytime. How does Speedbox Work? The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor's power relative to pedaling speed. This guarantees a smooth motor control without speed limit interruptions. Depending on a tuning kit, some determine when assistance stops, while others remove the restriction entirely for continuous support. However, the achievable speed mostly depends on the eBike model. Achievable speed can be calculated using a simple formula: Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1.000.000 [mm/km] The SpeedBox 1.3 tuning chip enables you to suppress the speed limiter on your electric bike. This unlocks the power of the Shimano motor, allowing you to achieve unlimited speed. When in use, the actual speed will appear on your display up to 14 mph (23 km/h). The manufacturer recommends keeping the maximum speed for Giant models up to 21-22 mph (35 km/h). To see the correct speed and all riding data during your ride, refer to the SpeedBox App on your smartphone. This tuning chip is very easy to control - via mobile app or by turning on/off the lights. If the lights are turned off, SpeedBox is activated. The chip can be easily deactivated by turning on the lights. A new feature in this SpeedBox version is the possibility of activating the double-click function in the app. By activating this function, the lights become independent of tuning. By double-clicking on the LIGHT button, the lights will flash, and the tuning will turn on. If you double-click on the button again, the tuning will turn off and the e-bike will work the same as without a chip. You can set the preferable maximum speed limit in the app. Is this Speedbox the right tuning kit for my bike? Compared to previous versions, this new product also plugs into the engine's E-Tube port. It is therefore necessary that the e-bike motor in which you are going to install the new version of SpeedBox for Shimano has one free E-Tube port. In case you do not have a free E-Tube port in the motor, please select “+E-Tube Port” variant. It is highly recommended to open the motor and refer to product pictures if you are uncertain about the situation under the cover. E-bikes, which do not have a free E-Tube port, are usually those with a Di2 electronic gear shifting system, or with a tube integrated Satellite System ON/OFF Switch (EW-SW100, EW-SW300).
