Very Special features include the exceptional use of choice Rosewood, the outstanding rosewood lines on the cylinder roll are magnificent. The use of Birdseye maple interiors and the rosewood fronts on the 3 shelves in the bookcase top section. The over-the-top use of the mechanical mechanism linking the cylinder roll to the slide out writing surface is a superior up-grade and the reason it is called a "Mechanical Secretary". The up-grade of an adjustable writing surface is a nice added plus. The very unusual and most appropriate storage compartments along side the writing surface is an up-grade we have not had the pleasure of seeing before we witness it on this up-graded Secretary model. The desk base has outstanding carvings on the cabinet doors.
