The fourth model from the family of the same name. It was produced in 1971-1973 by the Minsk Mechanical Plant named after S. I. Vavilov (Belarusian Optical-Mechanical Association). The main difference from the "Chaika-3" is the lack of an exposure meter. 351,000 copies of the "Chaika" model 2M were produced. Specifications - Type — scale half-format camera. - Type of photographic material used — type 135 film in standard cassettes. - Frame size — 18×24 mm. - Body — metal, with a hinged back wall. - Shutter cocking and film rewinding — trigger on the bottom panel, non-removable take-up spool. - Shutter button on the front panel of the camera, no thread for a release cable. - Lens — Industar-69 2.8/28, removable, threaded mount M39×1, but the working distance is 27.5 mm, not 28.8 mm. Filter thread diameter — M22.5×0.5 mm. The reason for the appearance of a removable lens on a half-format camera is unknown, interchangeable optics were not produced, whether production was planned is unknown.
