Description: Sony MDS-S38 MD Deck MD Recorder Player. This MiniDisc deck is in good condition with minor scratches. The remote is in great condition looks rarely used. Deck has been tested thoroughly for record and playback both analog and digitally. Commercially recorded discs and home recorded discs were tested as well. Remote works great as well as the controls on the deck itself. The back of the unit it is Japanese but the front controls and display are in english. The provided manual is in English. There is pictoral illustration of the back panel in the manual that is in English so you will be able to properly identify the connections. (Note power requirements of 100 v 50 or 60 cycles) I have used the unit in the US power grid without issue. The plug is US standard from the factory. Maximum specified safe power output of internal transformer is 32 Volts but it measures 27.6 volts on US power grid. Well below maximum voltage so the unit is operating within spec. even though it is plugged into 126 volts ac. I have used the unit without issue.
