Description: "Some of These Days: The Autobiography of Sophie Tucker" by Sophie Tucker with Dorothy Giles. 1945 No publisher named on copyright, title pages or spine. (Others on eBay identify these volumes with unprinted publisher as being from Doubleday, reprints by Garden City Publishing clearly state that on the title page - this one apparently isn't one of those reprints).319 pages with black and white photo illustrated end pages and no other illustrations. Hardcover, missing dust jacket. The author has signed, inscribed, and dated this copy on the half title page in blue ink. The inscription reads, as best I can tell: "To Winifred Paules Love Sophie Tucker Oct 23 /53". According to Wikipedia: " Sophie Tucker was an American singer, comedian, actress, and radio personality. Known for her powerful delivery of comical and risqué songs, she was one of the most popular entertainers in the U.S. during the first half of the 20th century. She was known by the nickname "the Last of the Red-Hot Mamas"." "Some of These Days", the title of her autobiography, is also the title of her hit song, which sold over a million copies in the mid 1920s. Tucker died in 1966. Photos are of the actual book on offer. See the photos for additional insight into content and condition of this classic showbiz autobiography of the pre-WWII entertainer.
