Description: This is a solid mahogany model of one of the most recognizable pursuit planes to come out of WWII: the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. This plane was a big step in giving the allied pilots an edge over their European and Asian counterparts culminating in the king of the skies the P-51 Mustang. This model was purchased at a local air show decades ago (I sure paid up) and after years of hanging from my ceiling has become separated from its base.
