Solid 22k white gold heavy 3.25mm chain 26.88 grams

Description: This is a solid 22k white gold chain that weighs 26.88 grams. It is about 3.25mm wide and 21.75 inches long. How can 22k gold be white gold you ask? Well this is actually a normal 23-24k yellow gold chain that has been rhodium plated to make it white. But of course only the outer plating of rhodium is white and any scratches will reveal the high karat yellow gold beneath. This chain has yellowing in spots and will also get yellower with use over time as the rhodium plating wears off. If you melted this puppy down you'd undoubtedly have a mixture higher than 22k gold; but since xrf xray machines don't sample very deep, I'm listing this as only 22k gold to keep the authenticators happy :-). See the last pic for my own xray assay results on this. The relative proportion of rhodium to gold shown in the xray results can vary a bit depending on how worn the plating is in the area sampled....As the plating wears off the gold percentage will go up and the rhodium percentage will go down.
