Description: This beautiful print titled "Miss Rose's Wisdom: Be Who You Is" is an endearing piece by artist, Sister Mary Bertoli. The artwork is done on heavy watercolor archival paper and is of medium size. The print is hand signed and dated by Mary Bertoli, who was a Sister in Catholic Order. Specifically, she served a parish within the Mississippi Delta for 10 years. In that time she opened up health clinics and worked in education, serving the children and their families within a greatly impoverished region of the country. The artwork depicts children of color in America (often represented by all colors) and is done in the style of black folk art and folk art. The print is framed and matted. The solid wood frame measures: 21 1/4 inches tall and 25 1/4 inches wide. This exceptional piece is from the year 2002. On a personal observation note, the artist's work is very honoring of all children of all cultures. I have personally viewed many of her paintings and one can truly feel the love and joy the artist has communicated with the stories written only with paint and brush upon watercolor paper.
