Description: This handmade pen was turned from a block of striped plywood called colorwood. This plywood is made from 1/16 inch thick plys of dyed wood laminated together. Is it hard enough to be a pen? This wood is made into gun stocks so it needs to be durable. After turning, I sanded the wood to 600 grit, then applied friction polish to a medium-high shine. The pen was then assembled using brushed/satin chrome hardware. This is a take-off on a pen style called a "Slimline Pro" that I modified to use a single long tube to show off the wood better. The colors of this pen are various shades of greens, blues and browns. I tried to show detail in the set so you can see what it looks like. The pen uses a standard Parker style refill and can be replaced by simply unscrewing the tip off, removing the refill and replacing it. Refills are available at any office supply store. If you like what you see, send me a "best offer" for $2 less than the asking price and I'll sell it. That'll have the additional benefit of not having to wait for the auction to end.
