A Ukrainian Galician Army officer and Prague University law graduate, he became a key member of the Ukrainian Radical Party, serving as general secretary and editor of Hromads'kyi holos. During WWII, he lectured at the Ukrainian Free University in Germany and was part of the Ukrainian National Council. Emigrating to the U.S. in 1949, he edited Narodna Volia, led the Shevchenko Scientific Society, and held significant roles in Ukrainian American organizations. His influential works include "Zakhidnia Ukraïna," "Ukraïna v dobi Dyrektoriï UNR," and "Ukraine and Russia: An Outline of History of Political and Military Relations."
