Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this house is the third to stand at Magnolia Plantation. The first built in 1680, burned before 1800. The second house was burned, except for its basement level, by union troops during the civil war. The present house was barged from Summerville down the Ashley River to this site in 1867 and was mounted on the foundation of the second house, where it served as the home of the Draytons until 1977.
