(February 2011) The Army Medical Department of the U.S. Army (AMEDD), formerly known as the Army Medical Service (AMS), encompasses the Army's six medical Special Branches (or "Corps"). It was established as the "Army Hospital" in July of 1775 to coordinate the medical care required by the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. The AMEDD is led by the Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, a lieutenant general. My father was a Colonel in the USAF and collected patches, pins and insignia from every Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine unit he visited all over the Country and World to give to me as souvenirs. At least that is how it started, now I'm selling the collection AND buying and re-selling, seems this hobby is quite addictive! Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS First Class Package.
