NICE This is a very nice group of PATRIOTIC POSTCARDS showing GEORGE WASHINGTON and honoring his Birthday and life. These postcards are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s. The postcards are colorful and attractive. This is a SET of postcards that are ARTIST SIGNED by Veenfliet, a famous USA artist. The postcards show Washington as a boy, in the army, and then being remembered with statues. This is a high value set, which is not seen complete like this too often. The postcards are nicely EMBOSSED and they are enhanced with a red border around the design. These are collector items because of their age, the attractive colors and gold trim, and their desirability to Washington and patriotic antique postcard collectors. The publisher of these antique postcards is the International Art Publishing Co. (IAP) who published in Germany during 1895-1915, during the "Golden Age of Postcards". IAP is considered one of the best publishing companies for quality postcards of that era. They published holiday and souvenir postcards. Three of their most famous artists were Ellen Clapsaddle, Chapman, and R. Veenfliet, all who were highly popular with collectors. Clapsaddle's work with children especially is well regarded and sought after. IAP was later acquired by the Wolf & Co. who continued publishing postcards with Clapsaddle. IAP postcards always bring a premium and are sought after by collectors. The postcards are UNPOSTED (3) and POSTED (5) with cancel dates of 1910-15. The postcards were "PRINTED IN GERMANY" during the "Golden Age of Postcards" (1908-1915). They have divided backs. These are BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains, paper toning, and edge wear due to their age (over 100 years old!). The photos show the postcards and their backs. The postcards are shipped in a sturdy envelope. We only ship within the USA; we do not ship internationally. USA shipping is with tracking, and we use eBay Standard Envelope mail when the value is under $20 and the weight is under 3 oz; and, we use USPS First Class mail when the value is over $20 or the weight is over 3 oz.
