AUCTION Schaefer Beer Display for Bars of Monthly Sports Events in NY Area The display hangs on the wall and comes with a light which works. Schaefer Beer provided this to tavern for patrons in the greater New York area. (Research indicates the display to be from the late 1960’s, possibly the winter of 1968.) The sporting event sheets, with their dates and tv channels, were to remind customers of upcoming events, both professional and collegiate, to be televised in the area that could be viewed at their favorite establishment. During monthly beverage deliveries, Schaefer would provide new sheets of the upcoming events. SCHAEFER BEER DISPLAY : The display sign is made of light-weight plastic with raised letters and raised gold colored round medallions of boxing, horse racing, basketball and hockey-these protrude through the printed colored paper background. The display has pegs from which 4 original (light cardboard) sheets hang. The sheets can easily be changed. (I am unsure how many sheets would be received monthly by bars.) The plastic front is attached to a Masonite backing which has a hinge at the top to hang it. Protruding thru Masonite backing are the pins which the sheets hang from. CONDITION-The display is over 50 years old and shows its age. I have listed its blemishes. : Photos are of the exact item you will receive. Please examine the photos. Two of the four weekly events sheets are written on the back. Some have light stains on the front. The upper right hand corner of the plastic display has a crack. The gold plastic border/trim has discoloration. The printed colored paper background has creases around the letters. There are places the paper background has buckling and not adhering tightly to the plastic beneath it. At the bottom, left of center through the colored paper is a screw hole where the display was attached to the wall. (I will file a claim.) These are the photos I will need: The outside of the box which clearly shows the damaged area. The top of the box with shipping label and any other labels such as "FRAGILE". A picture of the item set back in the box with packaging around it. Photos (more than one) of the damaged areas to your purchase. Steps for me to File a Claim The Buyer is to throw nothing out. (Save the damaged item, box and all packing materials.) Provide me with a description of the damage and photos. I will file a claim submitting the above from #1. The Shipper may require seeing the item. If so, it must be repackaged using the original box and packaging materials. Arrangements will be made for the Shipper to receive the item. Once the Shipper examines the item and renders their decision, closure will occur. Please note, I do not know how long it will take the Shipper to make their decision on this claim.
