Description: THIS AUCTION IS FOR: : ORIGINAL 1942 GEORGE PICKEN (1898-1971) "BUILDING THE SHIP" SERIGRAPH published by LIVING AMERICAN ARTTHIS IS AN OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL PRINT. DONE BY WELL LISTED ARTIST GEORGE PICKEN, IT IS A SCARCE PRINT THAT IS TOUGH TO FIND. I CAN ONLY FIND ONE OTHER RECORD OF IT HAVING SOLD ON THE INTERNET. NO OTHER RECORDS ANYWHERE. DONE IN 1942 FOR LIVING AMERICAN ART, IT IS THE IMAGE OF BUILDING A SHIP FOR THE WORLD WAR. HE DID A WAR POSTER OF A SIMILAR IMAGE WITH THE BOAT FURTHER ALONG IN CONSTRUCTION. IMAGE MEASURES 20 1/8 X 16 3/16 INCHES ON ORIGINAL COMPLETE SHEET MEASURING 24 X 19 7/8 INCHES. A 15 COLOR SERIGRAPH THAT IS IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION. THE PAGE SEEMS TO HAVE TONED CONSISTENTLY ACROSS THE ENTIRE SHEET BUT THE COLORS ARE INCREDIBLY STRONG. THE LIGHT BLUE, THE ORANGE, THE YELLOW ARE ALL AS VIBRANT AS THE DAY THEY WERE PRINTED. SIGNED AND DATED WITHIN THE IMAGE, THIS IS AN EARLY SERIGRAPH FOR BOTH THE ARTIST AND THE MEDIUM. SOME EARLY TAPE REMNANTS ON ALL 4 CORNERS AND A LITTLE MORE ON THE TOP EDGE BUT NOTHING THAT WOULDNT BE COVERED BY A MATTE AND FRAME. TRULY A GREAT WORK AND WOULD BE AN IMPORTANT ADDITION TO ANY 20TH CENTURY PRINT COLLECTION. UNFRAMED. CHECK THE PICTURES ON THIS GREAT PIECE. DONT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY. SHIPPING AND HANDLING AND INSURANCE CAN BE CALCULATED. ALL ITEMS ARE BEING SOLD AS IS. PICTURES ARE AN EXCELLENT INDICATION OF CONDITION. CHECK MY FEEDBACK AND YOU WILL SEE THAT MY CUSTOMERS ARE HAPPY. I GENERALLY SHIP ONCE A WEEK SO PLEASE BE PATIENT. IT TAKES TIME TO MAKE SURE ALL OF THIS ART AND ANTIQUES ARRIVE SAFELY. PLEASE DONT HESITATE TO EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING.
