Description: This auction is for a nice scarce FIRST MODEL J. W. Young & Sons "PRIDEX" 3" Salmon Fly reel, Circa 1945 The Pridex was first introduced in 1945 and ceased production in 1969. This is an example of the very first model, featuring black "crackle" finish to drum face and embossed brass logo with no "Ltd" on the backplate. The 3" size is also the scarcest size. These reels are becoming tougher to find in decent condition. This reel is in good collectable condition, working perfectly. Please study the photos carefully as they form a major part of the description.
