If you were around in the 80s it's a sound you probably forgot until you hear it again, especially when you flip on the STEREO switch. Rolling through the dial, it's a lost sound. Anyway, I rarely use this and it needs a new home. The radio works great, I haven't had batteries in it lately but have no reason to believe that wouldn't work. I picked up some cassettes on eBay but they are of course so old that the felt pads all fell off when testing the tape deck which didn't sound quite right ('warbled') but it did work.
