Description: These fish have reached sexual maturity and are about 6 months old, but they still have a few more months before they are fully grown and show their most vibrant colors. You will recieve a male/female pair. More photos can be provided upon request! About Sanshoku Lame Medaka Sanshoku lame is a variety of medaka with tricolor "koi" coloration. They have patches of orange, black, and gold on a transparent white body. The "lame" refers to the glittering scales on their backs. This variety is highly variable, please see the photos for an example of the possible colors you may recieve. Sanshoku color up best when housed in a dark colored container. Medaka ricefish do best in groups of 6 or more and prefer 20 gallon or larger aquariums for these optimal group sizes. They do great in planted patio ponds and thrive in a wide range of climates. These fish are raised outdoors all year round and are bred for heat tolerance and hardiness. Shipping Live fish will be shipped in methylene blue solution, double bagged, and in insulated boxes with heat/cold packs depending on the shipping conditions.
