Not only did he average more than 20 wins per year during this period, he won the NL ERA crown in each of those years and his 5-year ERA was under 2 runs per nine innings!! Many pitchers have dominated over short periods of time, but few (if any) have done it for 5 consecutive years. And, although his career was cut short because of an arthritic condition, there is no reason to believe that his dominance would not have continued had he not retired after the 1966 season (in which he was 26-9) at only 30 years old. Many sportswriters and fans consider Sandy Koufax the greatest pitcher ever. This is his story. There is some minor wear on the DJ, but this book is still in very nice condition.
