Description: Vintage Sandwich Glass STYLE whale oil lamp electrified. This style lamp was popular in the 19th Century, the shape and engraving made famous by glassworks in Sandwich, Massachusetts. LIGHTBULB AND LAMPSHADE ARE NOT INCLUDED, they are only shown in pictures to understand how lamp can look. Green glass is engraved with grape motif. Inside the glass appears unknown speckling material. I do not know if this was intensional to create an effect mimicking glass bubbling inclusions (which is what I originally thought before closer inspection) or some product inside that became opaque with age. The base is sealed with original felt. No cracks. Brass collar at top of glass is SPLIT, inspect PHOTOS. Brass base is mounted on marble base. Marble is light chipped at corners and beveled edges but no noticeable chunks. No cracks. Electric socket 250 V / 250 W has button switch. Brass harp is permanently affixed; it cannot be disassembled for shipping so this lamp will be packed in a long box unless picking up locally. Total height with brass finial is 23". Width is under 5 inches. Cord is dark yellow and measures 54 inches. Plug housing appears to be Bakelite or some early brown plastic.
