Description: Signed 1st editions/1st printings in all 3 variants (signed trade edition, signed Independent Bookshop edition and signed Waterstones edition) of probably the biggest book launch of 2021, the 3rd novel from award-winning Irish author, writer, essayist and poet Sally Rooney; her first book since 'Normal People ' which won the 2019 Costa Award, featured on a host of other award lists and has since been adapted into a BBC series. To the surprise of many critics and book fans, this new book was not on the longlist for the 2021 Booker Prize. 'Beautiful World, Where Are You ' published by Faber and Faber in London on 7 September 2021, 1st edition/1st impression, standard modern hardback. The standard version of the book has [vi] + 340 pages. The exclusive Waterstones bonus version has [vi] + 367 pages. Flat hand signed by the author to the half-title page in each book. The exclusive Waterstones edition has the same colour scheme as the standard trade edition, being yellow boards lettered in black to the spine, a blue dustjacket but also has a blue ribbon page marker. It has a bonus short story 'Concord 34' at the rear and all sides of the text block are sprayed yellow. The Independent Bookshop edition is in the reverse colour scheme of light blue boards lettered in black to the spine, a yellow dustjacket and has a yellow ribbon page marker. All 3 books are in fine unread condition , small roundel sticker to the front panel of the dustjacket of the Waterstones exclusive edition. This package includes a range of the exclusive promotional items for this release - a card print of the 4 main characters measuring 10.25in x 7.25in, which was only available from orders via Foyles ; a large postcard with a different design measuring 5.75in x 8.25in; a light blue Faber tote bag with lettering to the front; 3 of the illustrated character bookmarks and the main double sided bookmark for the book. ** The signed trade edition is the most uncommon variant of the 3; I only saw a limited number available on a random lottery basis with Foyles in the UK. All small bookshops were supplied with the yellow DJ version ** The new novel from the internationally bestselling author of Normal People. Alice, a novelist, meets Felix, who works in a warehouse, and asks him if he'd like to travel to Rome with her. In Dublin, her best friend Eileen is getting over a break-up and slips back into flirting with Simon, a man she has known since childhood. Alice, Felix, Eileen and Simon are still young - but life is catching up with them. They desire each other, they delude each other, they get together, they break apart. They worry about sex and friendship and the world they live in. Are they standing in the last lighted room before the darkness, bearing witness to something? Will they find a way to believe in a beautiful world? 'A tour de force. The dialogue never falters, and the prose burns up the page.' GUARDIAN 'Rooney's strongest writing thus far . . . There is a touching honesty and truthfulness in these pages, along with a quiet brilliance.' FINANCIAL TIMES Estimated non-UK postage costs by signed for airmail delivery - Europe £18, Canada/Japan £28, Aus/NZ £33, US £36.
