The scabbard is heavy duty black woven nylon with a liner. It has a belt loop, of course. It also has a snap holder for the handle.The knife is blade is steel and mine took a scary sharp edge and holds it well.The knife handle is THICK nicely knurled aluminum (to help keep this big knife from weighing a ton).The end of the handle has a threaded cap with o-ring to keep the weather out of what hides within.The end of the cap has a loop hand hold cord that is nylon and very strong. It should keep this beast from getting away or being taken away from the user.The back of the blade has a VERY sharp and aggressive saw back. Mine will chew through a branch about as fast as a good hand saw.Within the handle's secret water tight compartment is an all metal black Cree-bulbed torch / flashlight with the venerable Cree bulb (high output, low consumption and rated for thousands upon thousands of hours of bulb life. The Cree torch takes (and includes) one AA battery so no special expensive batteries are ever necessary.This is a nice combination and should serve well hunters, campers, hikers and / or the survival minded among us.
