Description: EMPTY, BOTTLE OF SM NOVELLA'S CLASSIC DE MEDICI/ORIGINAL SCENT NOW CALLED DELLA REGINA BY SM NOVELLA!? Acqua di S.M.Novella is Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s oldest fragrance. It is the perfume that Catherine de’ Medici commissioned the Dominican monks to create in 1533, and she took it with her to France when she married Enrico di Valois. For this reason this fragrance is identified as a perfume rather than with a cologne. It is a bouquet of fresh citrus notes with a base of Calabrian bergamot. The mold for the bottle is reminiscent of the glass bottles Officina has used over the last two centuries of its history, and it is used for all the other Santa Maria Novella colognes which have been created subsequently.Olfactory Notes: Fresh citrusTop: Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian lemon, NeroliMiddle:lavender, rosemaryBase: oriental sweet notesSMN perfumes certainly stand out from the other brands. Most fragrances have between 8 and 12 per cent alcohol - those from SMN have just 3 per cent, so the liquid doesn't evaporate nearly so quickly - and that helps them last all day.
