It is at least 22 years old but was never displayed. Please see the provenance explanation below.Large, it measures approximately 28" x 15" overall and weighs approximately 6lb 5oz. It is battery operated - unsure whether it functions as expected but common mechanism is easily replaceable.We only have 1 other similar piece in our store (square face). They embody the feel of rustic decorative objects one would expect to see in a Transylvanian mountain cabin in years past. The natural imperfections of the organic matter and the hand crafting lend them character and uniqueness, including:- naturally shaped, live edge wood (look out for a few nails poking at the back - filed points but still with roughness - see pic #7- pebbles used for trim and accent- what looks like (lacquered) seeds for (hour) numbers- reindeer moss covering the wood - it survived the years well but as expected, it is dry and may shed. Consider spraying it with a matte hair spray if you find that a bother- Transylvanian tinder mushrooms! - an uncommon and unique artisanal medium - look for pieces made entirely out of Tinder Mushroom in our store, where you will also find more information about this organic resource. For this clock, the mushrooms were used whole and were lacqueredCondition is as is. Please ask any questions you may have prior to purchase.**** About the provenance of this item ****This item is part of a group of hand made textiles, hand carved wood, hand blown glass, and hand made ceramics that was acquired about 23 years ago from Romania (most from the Transylvania region) for a store our family operated in Ohio. Eventually, the store closed, and all remaining merchandise ended up boxed up in storage in a relative's climate controlled warehouse, until our eBay store received them just recently. While we may have more than just one piece of a certain style, for the most part: 1. they will be only a few at best; 2. each of them will be unique; 3. once they are gone they cannot be replenished.
