Nothing else moved. Eyes unclosed, arms, legs, hands, and feet motionless - a state unchanged by pain, although covering the tube opening coincidental with pain made audible a faint cry of distress. He could feel physical agony but could move nothing. He was alive, or was he? He was dead, or was he? He silently begged God for death, but his plea was ignored. What had been he could remember. What was to be he could only imagine. At that moment the boy-man found little to warrant continued existence, and he prayed for death. I know all of these things intimately because I was he. He was only a teenager back then, but Harold Davidson had seen much hardship in his short years. On his shoulders, he carried the weight of some of the most difficult years in America's history. Unafraid, he entered Room 205 back in 1952. When he emerged, his life was forever changed. After being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré (a disorder affecting the peripheral nervous system), Harold's struggle begun. However, he pushed through life with great perseverance, never letting the debilitating disease get in the way of his ultimate goals. Workouts kept his body strong, allowing to surpass the strength of many boys his own age. But the world of academia was his forte; the pursuit of knowledge and helping others lead him to become accepted as a fellow at the Mayo Foundation for Education and Research, a faculty member assistant professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School, among many other lifetime achievements. Join Dr. Harold Davidson as he recalls his life's journey, recounting the fantastic adventures of his life before and after Room 205. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
