Description: The Grand Antique Mall, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, presents a Rookwood Pottery vase in Celadon glaze. Dated 1935. The vase’s shape mold number, 6452, was originally cast by John Delaney Wareham. Parallel lines encircle the vase; beneath are individual flowers encircling vase. Rookwood’s soft, sea green glaze was inspired by Chinese porcelain celadon glazes that were first used during the Sung Dynasty (960-1280 AD). A perfect collector’s vase. DIMENSIONS: 6”H x 4.5”W. Top diameter=2.75”. Base diameter=2”. WT=1.00 lbs. CONDITION: Very Good + . No chips, cracks, hairlines, missing pieces, factory bubbles, crazing or repairs. ABOUT THE COMPANY: Cincinnati’s Rookwood Pottery opened its doors in 1880, and continues to be the most celebrated and collected American pottery. By the time Rookwood merged with Tiffany & Company in 1967, the financial damage to the Pottery, caused by the Great Depression, could not be undone. Rookwood closed its kilns the same year.
