Description: Roland MC-909Vintage 2002Sampling Grooveboxw/ 128MB sample RAM upgrade This is a partially working unit, complete. Here is what I know about functionality:The large LCD is in good working order. The F3 key is not responsive, the other 5 function keys are all good. The velocity pads are all nice and responsive, including the velocity sensitivity. I do not know for sure, but I would guess the pads were replaced as they feel like new. (The LED for pad 11 is out, but the pad itself works nicely.)The transport control buttons (Play, Stop, Record, etc.) all work well. The Part Mixer sliders do not seem to do anything (you can get around this by using alternative controls in some of the screens) nor does the Turntable Emulation slider respond. The various sliders for the filter, pitch and LFO curves don't seem to work (or I do not know how to use them). The MIDI jacks and 1/4" output and phone jacks all work nicely. I have not tested the digital I/O ports.Part select buttons 3 and 11 do not respond. The value dial, cursor buttons, enter, exit, menu, the mode buttons all work fine. The D-Beams appear to be unresponsive. There may be any number of other controls that are not functional. The metal housing shows some wear, one corner has a ding, but the main control surface is bright and pleasant.Selling AS-IS, no returns due to the nature of the condition, priced accordingly. This unit, while not 100% by any means, still provides a great deal of utility and is loaded with a ton of crazy early 2000's sounds and beats. The unit is upgraded with an additional 128MB of sample RAM, providing 27 minutes of 44.1kHz sampling time.Roland provides a computer based editor specifically for this groovebox, with a version for the PC and another for Mac. They are still available on the official Roland site for download. I have not used either, so can't speak to the experience. Also, they may not run on current operating systems. Included with the unit: Spiral-bound complete users manual and MIDI implementation with laminated covers.Power cable. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, if I can answer them, I will. Cool piece of Roland history!
