In 2008 he changed his last name from Beck to Buck as a work of art. He studied at New York University; Tisch School of the Arts Film and TV Department; and the Independent Study Program of the Whitney Museum of American Art. Beck has exhibited in many solo and group shows including Strange Attractor; Ballroom Marfa, Marfa, TX; Robert Buck: States of America, Pizzuti Collection, Columbus, OH; Range: Experiments in New York, 1961 – 2007; and Metropolitan Museum of Art NY.
