Description: ON THE EVENING OF APRIL 14, 1912, THE WIDENER FAMILY THREW A PARTY THAT IS ARGUABLY THE MOST FAMOUS DINNER PARTY IN HISTORY. OVER A CENTURY LATER PEOPLE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT! The Wideners were one of America's wealthiest families. (US STEEL AMERICAN TOBACCO COMPANY) They were travelling First Class on board the RMS Titanic, on her lone maiden voyage. George and Eleanor Widener decided to throw a party, by invitation only, in Honor of Captain Edward J Smith's 40 years at Sea. The wealthiest passengers on board were in attendence. It was held on B-Deck, in the A' La Carte restaurant, the most exclusive restaurant on board Titanic. The upper class referred to it as "The Ritz" dining room. Captain Smith arrived at 7:15 pm, enjoyed the meal, smoked 2 cigars, and then at 8:55 went to the bridge and spoke with Lightoller before retiring for the evening, but not before saying, "If it becomes at all doubtful, I'll be just inside." This listing is for a fun and fictitious set of invitations to the Widener dinner party. I've designed and printed them on a creme colored card stock. There are 4 invitations per page printed on 2 sides front and back. You will recieve 2 pages, for a total of 8 invitations. (Sans the White Star Supply Co. Watermark) You can cut these and use them as invitations to your next Titanic Party. Add them to your Titanic collection, or use them as a plate decoration at your next Titanic Themed Party. Mine pictured, are on a 3rd class steerage plate which I'm certain is both a historical and social Faux Pas... GOTTA HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR! :) I will ship them to you in a sheet protector, sandwiched between 2 chip boards and then packed in a Kraft-Stay-Flat mailer. April 14th is coming soon.Start planning your Titanic dinner now. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN AS I AM ADDING NEW ITEMS EVERY DAY!
