Description: This is an original set published in 1971 and they are in Mint Condition. You are buying from one of the largest stockist of cigarette and trade cards in the UK. The title says it all really - these are colour drawings of cavalrymen in their uniforms which are set against a pastel background and whilst the uniforms are portrayed in all their detail they do look a little odd as only the saddle and flank of the horse is portrayed. Among those featured are an officer of the 2nd Life Guards from the Waterloo period, an 1905 officer of the 7th Queen's Own Light Dragoons, a trooper (c1815) of the Royal North British Dragoons better known as the Scots Greys, a 'Blues' trooper of the Royal Horse Guards, a Life Guards officer in dress uniform as worn at the Coronation of King George IV, a 3rd (King's Own) Light Dragons trooper of 1832, a trooper of the 13th Light Dragoons who formed part of the Light Brigade at Balaclava and a Sergeant of the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons from 1896. The numbered backs give plenty of information on the regiments and these are well worth adding to any collection. This series was also issued by Badshah, Browne, Empson, Golden Grain and Willcocks and Willcocks with just the issuer's name different. The cards are size 67 x 36mm Number of cards in set: 25 MINTFor over 10,000 items listed search for londoncigcard in your search engine.
