What Is a Refillable Cartridge? What is Refillable Cartridge and how does it work? A refillable cartridge is an alternative to using an original cartridges. It is as simple and easy to install as the originals and it can work in conjunction with the printer's OEM cartridges. The printer works exactly the same way but now you can refill your cartridges. When you get low on ink, just pull out the filler plug on the cartridge and syringe in some refill ink (available from rihac® for $31 per 100mls or $135.00 per 500ml) and you are ready to print again How much will I save by using refillable cartridges? In reality these inks are 100% made in Asia. This misleading advertising is based on an assumption that the German company Bayer provides ink Dyes (Bayer was a German company that sold inkjet dyes). In reality ink formulas are complex and only 5% of the finished dye product is the colorant (Dye) and comes from a company called Laxness which was formerly owned by Bayer. Laxness is in fact based in Korea. OCP which is Germany's largest ink manufacturer took the unusual step of making a public announcement some years ago that it does not provide any ink to any Chinese manufacturers due to the complaints it was receiving. Chinese ink has a bad reputation for causing head blockages and damage in printers and excessive fade rates due largely to cheap carrier fluids and additives used in their ink production.
