Description: This is the original (1sh) 1959 movie poster RETURN OF THE FLY. It was used to promote the film in theatres when it was released by 20TH Century Fox in 1959 It is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars Vincent Price, Brett Halsey, John Sutton, David Frankham, Dan Seymour, and Danielle De Metz. It was directed by Edward Bernds. This restored movie poster is Rolled and linen backed. The poster measures 27" x 41". The poster was rolled once it was linen backed. With the linen backing, it now measures 28.50" x 43.25". This poster was originally Folded. Almost all original movie posters pre 1985 are Folded. This is not considered a flaw or defect.This Restored movie poster is graded C8.5, or Very Fine to Near Mint. This grade is generally the highest grade a restored original movie poster can receive. Original movie posters are graded, from the top down, as C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Very Good to Very Fine), C6 (Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), etc. It is difficult to find any C10 (Mint) original movie posers pre 1985. Prior to restoration, this poster was graded a C7 Fine/Very Fine. Restoration corrected minor paper loss along the borders, separation at the cross Folds, Fold wear, pinholes in the corners, and minor stains along the borders.The poster is now beautiful. Some stray marks - the tiny (1/32") red specs as described above - have occurred since restoration, which are unobtrusive (not noticeable at a short viewing distance) to the poster's appearance. They occurred - we believe - from some red coloring from the top of the poster. The colors are deep and rich and the details of the images are amazing. I have seen RETURN OF THE FLY a number of times, and Vincent Price saves the Film although he is not as present in the 1959 movie as he was in the original THE FLY (1958). I bring this up since - to me - the 1958 THE FLY is a much better sci-fi/horror movie than the 1959 RETURN OF THE FLY (although I like both), but with that said the poster for RETURN OF THE FLY may be - to some fans, like me - a better sci-fi/horror imaged poster than the 1958 THE FLY original One Sheet movie poster. I also have the One Sheet and Half Sheet original movie posters for the 1958 THE FLY listed on my Ebay store. The original 1959 poster RETURN OF THE FLY has some investment value.
